Darleen Dolores, Department Head
I graduated from Leeds University with an Economics and Philosophy Joint Honours Degree in 2004. After travelling for a month, I returned to London and started researching job opportunities. The Graduate Recruitment advertisement described Foxtons as an innovative, young and highly driven sales company. This, coupled with the opportunity to earn a very competitive salary - at 21 years of age - meant I was sold!
I was lucky enough to be offered a position as a Move Consultant working in their funky Headquarters. Thanks to the extensive coaching from my peers and Team Leader, within a few months I was thriving in my role, and had developed a new-found confidence. I was also able to build on my understanding of the housing market, which allowed me to speak with ease to vendors and landlords alike. Working in the property industry is very exciting as the market is constantly changing so no day is ever the same.
After a year I was fortunate enough to be promoted from Move Consultant to Team Leader for the Putney office, looking after a team of Move Consultants and trainee Mortgage Brokers for the next two years. I am now the Department Head for all our south offices, which means I oversee more offices and a bigger team of Move Consultants, Team Leaders and trainee Mortgage Brokers. I also work closely with the Area Directors and play an important part in the opening of any new south offices so am constantly learning and growing as an individual. Watching my team grow too into successful Team Leaders and fully qualified Mortgage Brokers is very rewarding.
As a result of my hard work, I have been lucky enough to go to top restaurants in London, drive amazing super cars and visit several international destinations. Most importantly though, I have learnt invaluable skills at Foxtons and am still looking forward to new challenges ahead.
