James Clarke, Lettings Manager / Operational Director
When I initially joined Foxtons back in March 2000, my first role was as a Lettings Negotiator at the South Kensington office. I found the vibrant, competitive atmosphere helped me to thrive and I really threw myself into the role, hitting all my quarterly targets, that year.
After working hard and thoroughly enjoying the challenges that my role presented me with, I was promoted to the position of Lettings Valuer, before being given the exciting opportunity to become Lettings Manager at the Foxtons office in St John's Wood.
After spending twelve months as Letting Manager at St John's Wood, I was delighted to discover that the office's turnover was up by a massive 48%, which was a very satisfying and rewarding result. Throughout this time, the lettings team also grew from just three Negotiators to ten which was an amazing learning curve. In particular this provided me with invaluable management experience, but also allowed us to build on the office's market share quite extensively.
I was then invited to work back at the South Kensington office, where I had first begun my career with Foxtons - but this time as the Lettings Manager.
I've now been back in South Kensington for four years, and in that time the department's revenue has climbed steadily, culminating in a total increase of more than 100% since my appointment as Manager. As a result of my hard work, I was delighted to receive another promotion - this time to Operational Director - and am thriving in my new role.
