Jane Prelle, Protographer
I joined Foxtons in March 2001 as a recently graduated student making the big move to London. Back then the job involved taking photographs for the website and brochures, but has now evolved into a much more elaborate role. Visiting around eight properties a day I take photos for our award-winning website and high-end Area magazine, compose 360° shots, compile comprehensive floor plans and write up thorough details for each property.
I have really thrived working in a target-driven environment and have reaped the rewards, achieving number-one position in the department for three years running in terms of productivity. As a result, I have been taken all over the world, enjoying 16 quarterly trips - from skiing in the Alps to jet skiing in Malta.
Perhaps my greatest achievement whilst working for Foxtons was being chosen to help train photographers in the US. I spent a very rewarding six months living in the US training new employees while fulfilling my job role out there.
Since returning, I have been much more involved in the day-to-day running of the department, including training new members of staff and liaising with other departments. I split my time between our Headquarters at Chiswick Park and working directly from front office, which has really opened my eyes to the sales environment; the fast-paced surroundings, although daunting at first, are now something I relish.
