Kate O'Neill, Team Leader / Tenancy Team
I graduated with a Law degree from Nottingham Trent University in 2004 and had spent 18 months working for the police when I saw the Foxtons recruitment advert online. The career-driven and vibrant atmosphere was just the change I was looking for and so I applied. Although I had not worked in property before, the training I received enabled me to build on existing skills while learning all about the London and Surrey lettings market.
I started in the Tenancy Team where we assist landlords and tenants with many different aspects of their tenancy. Within this role you gain invaluable experience, quickly learning to deal with a range of enquiries.
I was delighted to be promoted to the Managed Team, where I looked after the maintenance and running of over 140 properties based in south west London. I enjoy being in control of my own workload which enables me to manage all the different aspects of my portfolio, while building relationships with landlords and tenants. Following on from this I progressed to Senior Property Manager, allowing me to assist with the running of the team as well as liaising with our front offices so that the whole process runs as smoothly as possible. I then moved back to the Tenancy Team and due to my experience and hard work was promoted to Tenancy Team Leader.
Every day is different at Foxtons. The working environment is fast-paced and the weeks seem to fly by. Before you know it, it's Friday again and it's time to prepare for tenancies due to start during the following week. It's great to be part of a team of like-minded enthusiastic people. It has now been six years and I have never looked back.
