A month after completing my degree in Photography at Portsmouth University in 2007 and moving back to London I was lucky enough to secure the job of Protographer working for London's most well-known estate agency, Foxtons! I was absolutely thrilled as this gave me the opportunity to use and develop the skills from my degree and what better way than photographing different properties and environments every day! After three months I was trained up and left to my own devices of processing properties all over London, providing our clients with the exceptionally high standard of finish they expect. This not only involved taking photos, but also 360 degree shots, writing property descriptions and creating floorplans.
I was lucky enough to work in the newly opened Dulwich office, helping Foxtons push their brand to a new area of London and raise the levels of expectations of what an estate agency can provide. After two years of working in the South East of London I was offered the opportunity to work for the Sloane Square office, covering prestigious areas such as Pimlico, Chelsea, Belgravia, Westminster and Knightsbridge. This gave me the huge advantage of furthering my photographic skills towards the rarities of the London property market.
I have had the privilege of working within a fantastic department made up of around thirty fellow-minded photographers enabling us to bounce skills and ideas between each other - developing as an individual as well as a team. Through this I was asked to become a department trainer guiding and teaching new starters with the processes and skills we use every day. It has been extremely rewarding to help out in this area and I have not only seen amazing development with the people I have taught but also in myself too.
Working for such a fun and dynamic company like Foxtons has been great and with such an exciting expansion plan already in place the opportunities here are endless.
