Posy Bevitt, Protographer
Having graduated from Southampton University with a Photography degree in the summer of 2007 I moved back to London to find a job where I would be able to use my skills and interests acquired during my studies. I was lucky enough to find a job at Foxtons and within two months of intensive training on the job, I became fully qualified as a Protographer.
Working as a Protographer you are required to effectively manage your own time so it is up to you to work as hard as you can. Each Protographer is given an office of their own to look after and photograph all new instructions and we also work closely with the managers, valuers and negotiators of that office. The job not only requires you to be a skilful and creative photographer, but also an imaginative and original writer, and a precise and meticulous measurer when drawing floorplans!
I have now been at Foxtons for just over four years and am delighted to say that I am regularly at the top of the department league in terms of productivity. For the last year and a half I have also been given the responsibility of training our new Protographers, which has been incredibly rewarding.
Within the department we pride ourselves on the quality of the work we produce - after all it's often the public's first introduction to Foxtons and our clients- properties and we want them to be impressed! Seeing our work in so many different mediums is also a great feeling - Area magazine, Foxtons.co.uk, plasma screens in our front offices - all of these are essentially a portfolio of our work and knowing how many people see this makes us immensely proud. Foxtons also offers a real work hard play hard environment where hard work is rewarded and we are frequently treated to Protography evenings out, as well as being involved in the branch and company dinners and parties.
Whether it-s working from headquarters in Chiswick Park or in one of our front offices across London and Surrey, Protography is a challenging job with great incentives, and no day is ever the same, making it a wonderfully enjoyable position to hold within the company.
