What is a Web Slice?
A Web Slice is a specific portion of a webpage that you can subscribe to, much like RSS feeds but easier.
This enables you to see when content on a webpage has been updated, for example a new property matching your search criteria.
-
How does it work?
When the page content is updated, the Web Slice is highlighted. When you click on the Web Slice, located in your Favourites Bar, a preview of the updated information is displayed. Clicking on the preview pane takes you directly to the page allowing you to view the updated content.
-
Who can use it?
Web slices are a new feature on Internet Explorer 8.0.
At the moment it is not possible to use Web Slices on other browsers, although some may offer plugins or add-ons.
How do I start?
If the website or web page supports Web Slice functionality, then the web slice icon will appear.

Click on the icon and this will open a pop up asking you to confirm you want to follow this slice of the website.

Once you have done this you will be kept up to date with the latest information from the web page.
