  1. East Sheen, also known as 'Sheen', is an affluent suburb of London, England in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It forms part of the London post town in the SW postcode area. The main high street is the Upper Richmond Road which has many small boutique clothing shops and delicatessens. Central to the area is a small square, known as The Triangle, with a war memorial, and an old milestone. There are a number of parks and open spaces in the area including Richmond Park, accessed via Sheen Gate; Palewell Common, which has a playground, playing fields, a polo field, tennis courts and a pitch and putt course; and East Sheen Common which leads onto Bog Gate, a secluded and hidden entrance to Richmond Park. The area has a tennis club (East Sheen Lawn Tennis Club) and small local pubs such as The Plough and Hare and Hounds on the Upper Richmond Road. Bars and restaurants are increasingly popular in Sheen, making it more of a destination for visitors, such as The Naked Turtle (jazz restaurant), Seven (fusion restaurant) and Don't Tell Fred which is a restaurant and live music basement lounge in Sheen Lane.
