    Renewed interest in the extension of the Bakerloo line is fantastic news for South East London.

    Following a consultation in 2014, proposed lines through Lewisham and Beckenham were received with great enthusiasm, which if implemented, will have an incredible impact on the property market in these areas.

    But it is not as if we don't have fantastic transport links in the South East already, with Tram Link and National Rail servicing areas like Beckenham, which has a whopping eight stations in its vicinity! In places like Crystal Palace and Sydenham, previous major infrastructural changes, including the arrival of the Overground, have heightened interest in the region, which will only continue to grow in the coming years.

    Over the next few years there are huge development plans for South and South East London, which is great news for tenants looking to make the most of the region's value for money.

    Beginning in 2016, the Croydon Partnership will transform Croydon into a shopping destination, with Westfield and Hammerson redeveloping the Whitgift Centre site to create an exciting hub of new homes, shops and restaurants.

    Part of this transformation is the upgrade of the existing transport system, which I think will encourage tenants to widen their property search to Croydon.

    In areas like Beckenham, the existing transport links, schools, parkland and High Street offer everything that tenants look for when searching for the perfect place to live, particularly when trains from Beckenham Junction to London Victoria take only 24 minutes.

    With the expansion of the Bakerloo line on the horizon, the future looks even brighter for Beckenham and the rest of the South East.
