"Haydock Green resident and London eccentric, Stanley Green spent 25 years carrying a placard along Oxford Street proclaiming "Less Lust, By Less Protein" until his passing in 1993. His placard can currently be seen in the Museum of London."

Although it is located on the outskirts of the capital, I love Ruislip because it offers both peace and quiet and underground links into central London.

Himani Bailey

The peace and quiet you experience in Pinner is a real retreat from busier parts of London....

What locals say about HA4

  1. I love South Ruislip because all the things you need in day to day life is close by..the tube station connects you to the central London and Heathrow airport connects you to the world which is just 40 mins drive. A lovely park is on your doorstep where you take your kids out to play, There are some fantastic schools for the kids. The grocery stores are not too far as well. There are some nice cafes and restaurants and the most important thing is its a very safe area, What else would any body need. I wouldn't live any where else.

  2. Ruislip is a great area to live in. It's near enough to London to make day trips and commuting easy and reasonably affordable, yet it's surrounded by lovely green areas and has its own selection of shops and cafés for days when you don't feel like going too far. There's a popular farmers' market every few weeks and a choice of tube lines in the area. It's also got quite an interesting history with numerous buildings dating back to Tudor times or even earlier, and its own mediaeval barn (where the farmers' market takes place). The community is friendly and there are lots of good schools nearby too.

  3. Good housing and schools. Parks and open spaces. Good access to shops, great transport links for rail and road. Wonderful place to live.
