Abney Park

Both an arboretum and a cemetery, Abney Park is one of London's 'Magnificent Seven' cemeteries built by the Victorians in the 19th century with beautiful grounds.


Great breakfasts and lunches and the only café in the area to open early. And they have food from Brazil too! OMG, I am so excited that this is my new local!

The Haberdashery

A beautiful, vintage-style café serving yummy cakes and proper coffee. Great for brunch.

Yellow Warbler

Recently in Time Out as one of the best coffee shops of 2015, this family friendly, independent venue also sells South American street food and tasty breakfasts.

Clissold Park

An amazing park to take your dog for a walk, with an animal enclosure and a butterfly dome!


Fabulous steak and a vibrant atmosphere - just as good as the sister restaurant in Clerkenwell.

Amazing place, so small that you may miss it if it isn't recommended! A family run business close to Highbury Barn, perfect for breakfast, brunch or dinner. They have now started doing jazz nights on a Thursday too.

"I love Newington Green because of the close community and village atmosphere. The proximity to Clissold and Church Street is handy, but Newington Green has most of what you need. This part of Green Lanes is really changing for the better and it's an exciting place to go now!"

"I live opposite wonderfully kept Clissold Park, which is great for running and taking a stroll around. There is a wide selection of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from when the mood or necessity takes you. There is a good library with friendly librarians, an annual literary festival, good bus links to central London and the proximity of London Overground is very helpful too."
