As summer is finally here, what better time to make the most of Canary Wharf's outdoor space.

Ideal for weekend rest and relaxation, parks and public gardens can truly enhance your enjoyment of the warmer months.

There are many places to choose from, but my personal favourite is nearby Greenwich Park. One of the largest open spaces in South East London, this former hunting ground covers 183 acres of lush greenery.

On the lower level, a playground and boating lake keep even the most active children entertained, while a stroll through the sensuous herb garden gives visitors a whiff of olfactory bliss. Up on the hill, flower and rose gardens, a large duck pond, the gnarled and swirling trunks of 17th century chestnut trees and an enclosure of frolicking wild deer evoke the countryside so vividly that it's easy to forget you're in the city.

As a breathtaking reminder, panoramic views from this elevated vantage include the O2 Arena, Canary Wharf and central London. Back home, private outdoor space is a hot commodity on the Isle of Dogs' urban landscape.

One particular three bedroomed apartment in the City Harbour development is a great example of what's available, as three balconies join two fantastic roof terraces.

The far-reaching river views from the south-west deck are spectacular and are best enjoyed from the property's decadent open-air jacuzzi bath.

The site of many a party for the current owner, this property is bound to catch the eye of a discerning buyer in no time. Foxtons.co.uk/1351588 This two bedroomed flat on Rayleigh Road recently sold for 335,000.

The sale completed within two weeks of the property going under offer. We recently sold this four bedroomed Georgian terrace house on Royal Hill in the Greenwich Conservation Area for 715,000, despite it requiring modernisation.
