Fulham is popular with both families and young professionals who are drawn to the area not only by the stylish shops and restaurants but also by its expansive green spaces.
Along the banks of the Thames, three attractive parks provide residents with a wide range of fantastic facilities.
Bishop's Park incorporates the grounds of Fulham Palace formerly the residence of the Bishop of London and is soon to undergo redevelopment, while South Park is popular with runners, dog walkers and children hungry for a challenge in its playground. Situated between the two is Hurlingham Park, created after the Second World War when the exclusive Hurlingham Club home of polo since 1874 sold its polo fields to provide local residents with much needed parkland.
Now Hurlingham is the park of choice for sporty locals who enjoy its superior facilities in the shadow of handsome and mature trees. Other areas of greenery include Parson's Green, Eel Brook Common and Normand Park, but family houses in Fulham also tend to have bigger gardens than their counterparts to the east.
I am excited to be marketing a grand six bedroomed house in West Kensington with a suitably expansive garden extending to approximately 48'. The garden is arranged over two levels: the ground floor double reception room opens onto a paved terrace perfectly suited to summer barbecues, and the kitchen and dining area on the lower ground floor opens out through concertina doors onto the lawn. Ideal for outdoor games and garden parties, the garden is a really fabulous feature to be enjoyed throughout the summer, day and night.
Foxtons.co.uk/1144183 We recently sold this contemporary house on Letterstone Road for 800,000. Offering excellent interior design and a stunning roof terrace, it achieved an excellent price for the area. Contracts were exchanged on this modern two bedroomed flat on Charleville Road just five weeks after we brought it to the market. The sale price of 410,000 reflects its enviable end-of- terrace location and abundant natural light.
