Best known for its celebrated heath, Hampstead treats its residents to rolling greenery and spectacular views across London, all of which can be easily enjoyed from the many roof terraces that punctuate the area's skyline. The heath itself is the perfect place to enjoy the summer sun.
Encompassing three open air swimming pools, a boating pond and enough space to find a quiet corner on even the busiest of days, it is a constant draw for locals and Londoners alike.
From the highest points of the heath the view is breathtaking and, by night, an illuminated horizon twinkles with stars and city lights. Nearby Queen's Park is also ideal for wiling away a summer's day.
Recently named a Green Flag Park for the quality of its services, it is ideal for a spot of light exercise, thanks to all-weather tennis courts, a crazy golf course and pétanque pitch.
The park also offers a great family day out as a playground, paddling pool and animal farm entice children outdoors and away from the television. Back home, private outdoor space is a huge draw to potential buyers, especially in the summer market.
A well presented garden or terrace can add value to your home while contributing to the quality of your life; a great example of this can be found on St Augustine's Road in Camden. French doors open from the kitchen onto a paved patio that is excellent for barbeques or al fresco drinks.
Beyond this lies a manicured lawn, framed by evergreen borders and secluded by a charmingly rustic wall.
Upstairs, the guest en suite bedroom opens onto a balcony, offering views across the rooftops of Camden ideal for sharing a morning coffee with a visiting friend.
With such excellent opportunities to enjoy the warm weather, I don't expect this property to stay on the summer market for long. Foxtons.co.uk/161556 This large property on Chevening Road, around the corner from Queen's Park, is currently split into a two and a three bedroomed flat and is in need of extensive renovation.
It recently sold for 1.16 million. This five bedroomed period house on Crediton Road in Queen's Park recently sold for 1.2 million. An ideal family home, it offers wonderful interior design as well as a lovely garden.
