Flanked by Battersea, Hyde and Green parks, the area covered by our Sloane Square office may be small but it is perfectly formed.
In the warmer months, locals migrate outdoors to enjoy these prestigious green spaces, in addition to our own slice of outdoor life St James's Park. Skirted by Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace and Westminster, the park lies in the very heart of historic London.
The land was acquired as a deer park by Henry VIII and later developed into a site of pomp and pageantry under the indulgent eye of Elisabeth I.
Redesigned by Charles II, who regularly visited to feed the ducks and mingle with his subjects, avenues of grand trees were installed and the lawns manicured into their current glory. In the 1800s, celebrated architect John Nash transformed the park into a romantic landscape.
The canal was converted into a rippling lake and the Ornithological Society of London donated flocks of birds that made the grounds perfect for London's twitchers. Back home, private outdoor space is the perfect accompaniment to the summer, and we are currently marketing a five bedroomed house on Walton Street with a fabulous garden.
A conversion of two houses merged into one, this property has twice as much outdoor space as most Chelsea homes.
Its landscaped garden is adorned with greenery and would play the ideal host to an evening drinks party, or equally an intimate meal for two.
With such fabulous opportunities to enjoy the summer, I don't expect this property to stay on the market for long. Foxtons.co.uk/172377 This one bedroomed flat in what is arguably Pimlico's finest garden square recently received a fantastic offer. The property, which features a lovely terrace, perfect for summer, was on the market for 750,000.
