Wimbledon is an area of outstanding beauty and, as summer arrives, this aesthetic element only intensifies as the trees burst into blossom, flowers bloom and sunshine dapples the streets.

June also heralds the tennis season, when hordes of local residents flock courtside to make the most of their charmed location.

But another perk of Wimbledon living is the sheer abundance of outside space here everybody in every part of the area has easy access to a park or common.

Gardens are the norm too, unlike in other parts of London, which is why so many people move here from more central areas.

In fact, many houses not only boast sizable gardens to their rear; they also frequently have them at the front, while additional roof terraces and balconies are not unusual. This month I'd like to showcase a property with a wealth of desirable attributes, not least a private balcony and vast wraparound garden complete with water feature.

This expansive paved space curves around the house and has ample room for a sizable table and chairs, an inbuilt corner bench and a veritable bounty of flowers and plants.

Set on sought-after Cottenham Park Road in West Wimbledon, this stunning three bedroomed detached home also overlooks Holland Gardens, a well-tended and picturesque stretch of land complete with mature trees, beds of colourful tulips, bright bluebells and a host of golden daffodils worthy of Wordsworth himself. Inside, the home has been equipped with every modern convenience; there are integrated appliances in the kitchen along with granite work surfaces, a universal audio system and French doors leading to the aforementioned balcony.

It has also been lovingly refurbished throughout and has a sleek, polished finish in short, it is an ideal home and one I feel sure will be snapped up by an eager buyer very soon. Foxtons.co.uk/1320727 We sold this three bedroomed Victorian terrace house on Aston Road in Raynes Park for 490,000 with just five weeks passing between the offer being accepted and contracts being exchanged.
