Woking may not often be celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, but this town has in fact inspired some great works of artistic note.
HG Wells began his story in cult classic The War of the Worlds when aliens landed on Woking's Horsell Common a fact commemorated by a giant sculpture of an alien tripod erected in the town centre while Paul Weller named his album Stanley Road after the Woking street that he grew up on. Perhaps, then, the works of Nobel Prize and Oscar-winning playwright, George Bernard Shaw, could also have been inspired in some way by his experiences in Woking he once lived in the very apartment that I would like to showcase this month.
Nestled atop a leafy hill, this three bedroomed period conversion boasts the most picturesque of surroundings and, leading out directly to a large stone balcony, the rolling vistas that can be enjoyed from the study are sure to spark creativity and clear the mind. High ceilings and sharp lines add to this grand apartment's character, as do the stunning original leaded windows, but for me, the reception room has to be one of its most impressive features.
Vast and airy, this is one of the biggest reception rooms that I have ever seen in a flat, a fact that is underlined by the floods of natural light that stream through the huge bay windows.
Just a short stroll from the station in spite of its verdant setting, I see this property being perfect for a professional and am sure a discerning tenant will be drawn by its immense potential soon. Foxtons.co.uk/2357456 This smart two bedroomed, two bathroomed apartment is presented to a high quality throughout and went under offer just four and a half hours after it came onto the market a short let contract was agreed five days later for 550 per week. Conveniently located in Woking town centre, this spacious two bedroomed apartment let just three days after we brought it onto the market at 1,350 per month on a 12 month contract.
