It was a bumper weekend for us here at Foxtons with both the Barnes and St Margarets fairs taking place on Saturday.
As a part of the local community, we love nothing more than getting involved with events and meeting the local residents. We were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to do just that in St Margarets and Barnes over the weekend where our local offices got in on the fun.
Dating back to the late 1970s, the St Margarets Fair near Twickenham is a fantastic day out for all of the family with a great variety of food and drinks stalls, live music, the much loved dog show as well as fairground rides and activities. We were thrilled to once again host the Coconut Shy and Mini Challenge – so a big congratulations to those who went away with their coconuts and to Amy for correctly guessing how many balloons were in the branded Mini! We are delighted to announce that the Coconut Shy was a great success as always and succeeded in raising over £300 for local charities.
Across the river, we were proud to support the Barnes Community Association Bookstall at the annual Barnes Summer Fair. Having run for over 40 years now, the event, this year celebrating ‘Barnes in Bloom’, is a social highlight for the local community and surrounding areas with people heading over to enjoy a day of live performances, including dance and music, food from across the world and an array of stalls selling local goods. With something for all of the family, from holiday reads to school textbooks, we are thrilled that the bookstall was a huge success in raising money for the BCA.
Rupert Dickinson, Lettings Manager in Foxtons Barnes said: “Barnes Fair is Barnes at its best; a community driven, family day for all to enjoy, and the BCA is the beating heart of the village. We are delighted to support them and over several weeks have taken in hundreds of books into our High Street office - thank you Barnes Bookstall for involving us!”
