According to the latest figures on the private rental market from the Office for National Statistics, London’s lowest rents can be found in the boroughs of Bexley, Greenwich and Waltham Forest, where the median rent for a room is between £477 – 520 a month.

Here, we show you just some of the fantastic homes available to rent in some of these areas, as well as others that we think you might like. Of course, these properties in London’s most affordable neighbourhoods are only available to rent whole, not on a room-by-room basis, but they’ve got a lot to offer potential tenants.

Greenwich

Greenwich is most famous for its Royal Park and of course the Royal Observatory, the location of the Prime Meridian. Owing to its rich history and pretty setting on the River Thames, Greenwich has an old-world charm that you can’t find in many places in London.

Croydon

Croydon has been given a new lease of life, which shows in the number of people flocking to the area to buy and rent. Regeneration schemes have not only improved the look of the area, but the atmosphere too.
