If you're thinking of updating your home's interiors, but need some inspiration, these up-to-date interior design tips will make sure your property flaunts the most current interior trends. And we're certain they'll give your home the wow factor that will impress your family and friends.

Natural and rustic aesthetics

Sleek kitchens and all-white bathrooms have been the staple of UK home design for at least the past five years. But now we're seeing homeowners move away from this minimalist aesthetic towards natural finishes and rustic materials, combined with bright, uplifting colours.

Go for natural wood worktops instead of polished stone ones and painted wood units instead of a shiny finish. Handle-less units in the kitchen are also on the way out and traditional finishes are the 'in' thing.

In with the bold…

Home design and colour schemes have become more daring in recent years and 2017 was definitely the start of homeowners being more confident with colour in the home.

An easy way to update your living space is to paint the walls. It's important to go for a matte finish, as this is the aesthetic of choice in 2018.

Rich blues, greens and pinks are currently the most popular colour palette of choice, which will really impress your family and friends. Or for more brave homeowners, why not give burnt orange or olive green a try.

…and swap out grey

Over time, browns and beiges have been replaced in the home with various shades of grey, with homeowners experimenting mainly with grey furniture, kitchen units and walls. But it seems that they're now on their way out.

If you want to embrace the most current base colour trends, natural greens and blue-grey are now the way to go, as they're simple to accessorise and easy on the eye in large blocks.

Floral

Jungle prints have featured in pretty much every interior design blog and homeware store since 2016.

And while it's still a big trend, it's florals that are now making a comeback – which is great news for property owners, as it's a cheap and simple trend to introduce in your home.

Think less delicate roses and more bold tropical flowers, which are a continuation of the tropical plant theme. Bed linen, cushions and chair coverings are great ways to try out this interior fashion, without breaking the bank.

Monochrome

Monochrome is a classic design trend that has remained an interior staple for many years, but this year it's definitely on the interior design hot list. This is great news if you're refurbishing your property, as it's a timeless aesthetic that works well in any home.

Matte black metals, large blocks of black and accessories are easy ways to test the style, which work well with the gold/copper trend that is currently a staple of home design.
