Gives her personal account of working at Foxtons.
Having graduated from Southampton University with a degree in Criminal Psychology, I knew I wanted to get going with work as quickly as possible, and as my family had an interest in property, I thought that would be a good start. I applied to be a negotiator at Foxtons in 2007 and was over the moon when I was called in for an interview.
I started my journey in our newly opened Kingston office. I loved the challenge of dealing with applicants and selling properties, especially the deal chasing side of the role, and because of this, I knew my passion was administration and customer service. After a year in the negotiator role, I applied to be an Office Co-ordinator and I have been on an amazing journey ever since!
I was appointed to be the Office Co-Ordinator of the Chiswick High Road office and my love-affair with this role began. My days were comprised of dealing with Landlords and Property Management, assisting the negotiators with move in’s and applicants that wanted to find properties. As well as focusing on Customer Service, there was a significant amount of administration that needed to be done in order to facilitate the running of such a busy office. Filing systems needed to be updated and maintained daily, keys needed to be securely logged on our systems and stock orders needed to be submitted in time to make sure that we never ran out of anything.
Having gained the necessary knowledge and experience from this role I was promoted to Senior OC which allowed me to mentor newer employees in the role and take on extra tasks for the West and Surrey Division.
After excelling in my position, I was promoted to the Roaming Office Co-Ordinator for our Central Division which meant that instead of just having one office to look after, I now had 10 offices. My time was divided with training new staff, instigating new office procedures and undertaking PA duties to the Area Director comprised of booking meetings, diary organisation and correspondence on his behalf.
During my time, I have had 3 divisional movements from West and Surrey, Central, South and South East, a number of promotions and I am now the Senior Roaming Office Co-ordinator for 5 divisions and specialising in the training and ongoing development of the team! Foxtons has given me so many opportunities to grow and progress. I love going home having learnt something new every day, as you continuously learn in this role, and knowing that tomorrow will be another exciting busy day.
