Golden Fleece

A hidden gem in Forest Gate Village overlooking Wanstead Flats, this pub has recently undergone a full refurbishment and has a huge beer garden at the rear.

The Larder

Great Coffee and Cake - It has only just opened!

Panda's Kitchen

Chinese takeaway if you're in between the Forest Gate and Upton Park Area. All fresh ingredients, amazing portions and cooked with loads of colour and flavour!

Wanstead Park

Home to a variety of wildlife, Wanstead Park and its pond are fantastic on a lazy Sunday; take a stroll and feed the ducks and geese.

London Fish Bazaar

This excellent fish shop buys in their fish from Billingsgate Market. They cater for a variety of cultures, with a range of exotic fish.

Wanstead Flats

A fantastic green open space situated between Forest Gate, Manor Park and Aldersbrook.

Ambala

A fantastic Asian confectionary shop selling both sweet and savoury treats on Green Street, close to Upton Park Underground Station.

Vijay's Chawalla

A down to earth vegetarian Indian restaurant, with tasty, inexpensive, healthy and authentic food.

Compôtes

This cafe next to Wanstead Park Station makes a great cappuccino!

Corner Kitchen

Fantastic family orientated cafe serving unique stone baked pizzas, homemade cakes and featuring a basement playground with dedicated activities throughout the week for under 5's. Great place to take babies and toddlers.

Pie Republic

Great traditional pie and mash.

Dynamix Health Club

The perfect place to go to relieve stress after work. It has an amazing free weights room and a cafe serving healthy juices and shakes made from a choice of protein brands.

Wanstead Farmers' Market

Great locally produced food. Look out for TTaste street food serving freshly made gyoza (Chinese dumplings) served with TTaste homemade chilli oil.

North Star

Situated in Leytonstone Village near Bushwood, this pub has a food menu with a Thai twist and a beer garden out the back.

Le Petit Corner

Le Petit Corner is my absolute fave café in the Bushwood end of Leytonstone. It's Bugaboo central, but the kids can play downstairs, so upstairs is chilled and they have a secluded garden. Top toasties and apple tart and just started doing select gourmet food evenings, perfect for date night!
