Marmelo Kitchen

Great food and an ever-changing menu,

Lee Valley Ice Centre

A fantastic place to hang out with your friends and have a good time ice skating or playing ice hockey. You can also book ice skating lessons for a reasonable price.

FIFTEEN York Hill

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Lovely terrace. Great atmosphere and music on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Last Post

Great for drinks after work or a cheap pub lunch. It's location on the high street is really convenient too.

LuXe

This luxurious late night bar is Loughton's answer to the West End. Dress to impress, book a table and have fun with your friends.

The Victoria Tavern

This has to be the prettiest pub in Essex! It's in a lovely quiet spot near Epping Forest and the large garden is fantastic in the summer.

OrganicO

Loughton's go-to store for all things healthy. As well as selling organic products and supplements, there is a cafe serving delicious vegan and gluten-free treats.

Virgin Active, Repton Park

Not somewhere accessible to every local, but worth a mention all the same. The pool here is set within a converted church and is one of the most relaxing places to come and reflect upon your day...or just reflect on life.

Two Kitchens

The best sushi and burgers around and all under one roof - choose between Japanese and Italian cuisine, or why not have both!

The Olive Tree

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Loughton! Their Mediterranean and Greek food is delicious and it has such a great atmosphere too. It's the perfect place for a get-together or celebration.

Woodford Wine Room

A small and friendly wine shop. They even sell wine from a barrel if you bring your own bottle to fill up.

Mode Beauty Therapy

I always visit this independent beauty therapy salon before any special event or just for a bit of me time. They offer a range of different treatments and the staff are always really friendly.

Nu Bar

One of Loughton's late night spots, it's open from Thursday to Sunday and attracts a glamorous Essex crowd.

Wildwood

It may be part of a chain of restaurants, but they definitely don't compromise on quality. The pizzas are really tasty and even the salads are too!

The Gardeners Arms

I love this pub because of it's hilltop position. The views towards London are beautiful and Epping Forest is just round the corner. It has a cosy, traditional atmosphere and it's dog friendly too!

Why do you find E10 a great place to live?

G R Potter

"I have lived in Leyton since 2002. I live on the Barclay Estate, in a 3 Bedroomed, 2 reception home with lots of original features. This is a unique terrace of houses as there are none like them any where on the estate, good sized garden and having Walthamstow and Leytonstone stations near by and of course the overground is a real blessing. "Following the devastation of The Blitz, rubble was dumped beneath Hackney Marshes, which allowed the bogs to drain. This encouraged grass to grow and become the picturesque spot it is today."
