"Rumoured to be the oldest pub in the City, the Hoop and Grapes is still equipped with its "listening tube" that enables people in the cellar to eavesdrop on conversations in the bar. Probably used by the landlord in the time of Cromwell to listen out for any conspiracies that were being plotted!"

Old Spitalfields Market is the perfect place to pick up a gift or dine in beautiful Victorian-designed surroundings.

What locals say about E1

  1. A diverse community and great shops, bars and restaurants.

  2. Whitechapel is a very affordable area, yet very convenient to reach virtually any part of central London and the east, thanks to its vicinity to the city and the many tube lines that allow you to reach Canary Wharf, the south east, the Olympic village, the wapping area, the nightlife of Old Street and Shoreditch in a matter of minutes

  3. There is a lot of new building and the price are good and you can have your flat with view river.

  4. There is a lot of new building and the price are good and you can have your flat with view river

  5. Whitechapel is such a vibrant area and constantly evolving. I love that you can walk to some of the best parts of East London - Victoria Park, Columbia Road Market and Shoreditch are all so close. Some beautiful old buildings, great pubs and only a short tube ride into the centre of town make it a really great place to live

  6. Living 2 mins walk from the Wapping project.
