Where do Elephant and Castle locals go?

Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum offers a wealth of collections to explore - head to the Extraordinary Heroes gallery to discover the real-life stories of courage behind the Victoria Cross and George Cross medals awarded for bravery.

Flat Iron Square

An outdoor food and entertainment venue under the railway arches in Bankside.

A cheap and cheerful Italian serving the cheesiest lasagne in London!

The Young Vic

A small theatre where all the seating has good angles. Reasonable ticket prices and performances by extremely talented people. There is also a food and drink area.

Neal's Yard Dairy

Sourcing and selling the best of British and Irish cheeses. Make sure you check out Neal's Yard Dairy when you're wandering through Borough Market.

The Refinery

An industrial, but welcoming bar and restaurant hidden behind Tate Modern.

Aqua Shard

Not a bad way to start your day with breakfast at the Shard!

Ting at the Shangri-La

On the 35th floor of the Shard, Ting delivers the astonishing views that you would expect. What I didn't expect was the incredible food that was pretty good value for money - £55 for four mouth-watering courses and the prettiest dessert I've ever seen!

The View From the Shard

A really nice afternoon out if you are new to London, have visitors or just want something to do one day. Amazing uninterrupted views over London and on a clear day you can see for over 30 miles!

A special occasion place - beautifully prepared food and stunning views.

Konditor & Cook

They have a few stores around, but this is the best. Curly Whirly cake is the food stuff of legends, the most chocolatey chocolate cake ever!

Very impressive meat dishes cooked in a proper American smoker. The ribs are fantastic!

The Clink Prison Museum

Set on the site of one of England's oldest prisons, this museum is a great day out for all the family!

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Whilst there have been many new entries into the London burger market, GBK remains a firm favourite. The Don burger is a thing of beauty!

Tate Modern Kitchen & Bar

Nothing quite like sitting down with a cold, crisp glass of wine after a stroll along the south bank. The bar on the 6th floor of Tate Modern also comes with one of the best views in town AND the added benefit of supporting a fantastic arts institution. Later weekend opening times make this a great place to watch the sunset.
