What is your favourite place?

Where do IG8 locals go?

Woodford Wine Room

A small and friendly wine shop. They even sell wine from a barrel if you bring your own bottle to fill up.

Virgin Active, Repton Park

Not somewhere accessible to every local, but worth a mention all the same. The pool here is set within a converted church and is one of the most relaxing places to come and reflect upon your day...or just reflect on life.

Wanstead Farmers' Market

Great locally produced food. Look out for TTaste street food serving freshly made gyoza (Chinese dumplings) served with TTaste homemade chilli oil.

God's Own Junkyard

Enough to brighten any overcast day... Head over to this warehouse for a sensory overload. A crazy feast of colours with store signs and lights, it's a truly hipster place!

Aura Rosa

Serving afternoon tea on a Sunday at Mother's Ruin Gin Palace, I recommend the Guinness cake!

Mother's Ruin Gin Palace

A lovely range of gin cocktails made with any gin you can possibly think of!

Wildcard Brewery Tap Bar

A beautifully simple place with beers brewed on site. A lovely laid back feel with the occasional live band playing!

The Italian Delicatessen of Walthamstow

The deli counter stocks a superb range of Italian cheeses, cured meats and crudités to enjoy as antipasti or ingredients. Freshly-baked breads include focaccia. Superb quality wines and spirits. The warm welcome and customer service is what makes this delicatessen authentic. A great shop in Walthamstow.

William Morris Gallery

As well as showcasing Morris's works, you can also learn about the wider art world through exhibitions and workshops.

Cove17

New addition to Hoe Street and another sign of positive improvement in the area. Affordable accessories for gentlemen, some of which are produced by local manufacturers; fantastic barbers, and plenty of interesting conversation while you sit and wait. The owners also produce their own beard oil on site.

The Village Bakery

Great for al fresco breakfasts and lunch in the heart of the village and they do a mean BBQ Pork Bap Special!

The Village

Recently reopened, this pub is a great place to enjoy a drink sitting on a lovely, comfy sofa in the garden.

Eat17

This restaurant in a converted ballroom has a varied menu of hearty British meals with a foodie twist.

Queen's Arms

A pub in Walthamstow Village that's always vibrant and buzzing; a great place to meet friends for Sunday lunch.

Empire Cinemas

The largest independently owned cinema in the UK, it's a good place to hang out with your friends and enjoy a movie.
