Let's deal with the elephant in the room: the block is ugly as sin. Seriously, what were the architects thinking? But once you're inside, it doesn't matter. The flat itself has an absolutely wonderful feel to it. The fact it's a duplex is a big help, giving the place a house-like character. While there are great views from the kitchen, bathroom and 2nd bedroom of the Village and Heath (perfect for the fireworks display, FYI) the main bedroom and living/dining room face south, so the light floods in. The neighbours are lovely too. We converted the third bedroom into an office, but there's more than enough room for a nursery, with the second room being big enough for a double. Don't judge a book by its cover. We love the place, and not because it's two minutes' walk (or 30 seconds' run) from the station and Blackheath Village, with free off-street parking. We love it because, truly, it is such a homely place to live.
