We love how light, airy and spacious it feels. The extension utterly transformed the house, though I loved it before. My favourite feature is the architect-designed and custom made huge glass patio door and window. When we extended we imagined bifold doors and without the inspiration of our award winning architects (ifdo.co), we couldn't have envisaged something as unique and ideal in the space as this. Having parking is so convenient. The close neighbours are friendly and there is a good atmosphere - I knock on neighbours' doors for cooking ingredients when caught short, etc! The houses are surprisingly well sound-insulated - we hear barely a peep through the wall. The private outdoor space is incredible in the summer, and great to be set back away from the road. Being so close to the big green space of the common is amazing. Equally, only a few minutes' walk from the lovely shops, cafes and pubs of Abbeville village, and so close to Clapham Common and Clapham South tubes.
