"So called because it was used by nannies in the 19th century to the wealthy residents, Nursemaids Tunnel was one of the earliest examples of an underpass - it links the gardens of Park Crescent to the gardens of Park Square on the other side of Marylebone Road. Both parks are privately owned, so access is only available to residents, but can be visited during the annual Open Garden Squares weekend held in June each year."
