History of Foxtons

Founded in 1981, Foxtons started life as a two-person agency in Notting Hill. Over the years we are proud to have become London's leading estate agent.

Key stages of Foxtons

1981 Foxtons was founded in Notting Hill Gate, London, as a two-person estate agency determined to make its mark on the local property scene by doing things differently.
1982 Foxtons' revolutionary 0% commission offer was launched together with much longer opening hours: 9am to 9pm!
1983 Foxtons opens its second office, in Fulham Broadway.
1986 South KensingtonFollowing the success of Fulham and Notting Hill, Foxtons opens an office in South Kensington.
1991 1991 marks a change in branding for Foxtons with the introduction of the first roundel logo design.
1992 BatterseaContinuing its expansion into West London, Foxtons opens an office in Chiswick.
1994 BatterseaFoxtons opens a large office in Battersea, South London.
1995 PutneyFoxtons produces a dedicated lettings magazine for Londoners and opens its fifth office in Putney.
1996 St John's WoodHampstead1996 sees Foxtons move into North London with offices in St John's Wood and Hampstead.
1997 Park LaneislingtonThe flag-ship Park Lane office is opened to serve Central London and a new office is also opened in Islington.
1998 Foxtons rebrands in the late 90s.
2001 In early 2001 Foxtons opened its state-of-the-art headquarters in Chiswick, West London. At Foxtons HQ, hundreds of business professionals provide a vital support service enabling our front offices to focus on what they do best: selling and letting property.

2001 also sees the first branded Foxtons Minis zipping around the capital, prompting many imitations.
2002 EalingBalhamThe first café-style offices are launched in Ealing, Richmond, Balham and Wimbledon marking a turning point in the estate agency industry.

In addition the Hot Rod Mini was launched.
2003 MiniIn 2003 the Urban Graffiti Mini was unleashed on London.
2004 Sloane SquareMuswell HillFurther café-style offices are opened in Sloane Square, Muswell Hill and Shoreditch during 2004.

In addition the Hippy Mini was launched.
2005 MiniThe 2005 Camo Mini was inspired by contemporary London street fashion.

Foxtons.co.uk is awarded many high profile awards, recognising innovation, quality and ease of use.
2006 Canary WharfGuildfordIn July Foxtons opened a new office in the business heart of Docklands at 20 Canada Square in Canary Wharf. Further offices opened in Kingston and Guildford marking the start of an expansion into Surrey.

2006 also saw the Punk Mini hit the streets of London.
2007 DulwichPinnerFoxtons open offices in Dulwich and Pinner, bringing the total number of offices to 23. Both offices launch with Foxtons' trademark 0% commission offer.

Foxtons.co.uk wins more prestigious awards, including best estate agency website in the UK.
