Robbie Isn't Real + George Patrick = This Bright Condition
These two die-hard Radiohead fans (and childhood best friends) have been writing songs together for over a decade. In recent times, they have found themselves writing independently to understand and express the peculiarities of their individual life paths. Whilst Robbie's songwriting draws more from the cherished bands of his teenage years (Killers, Foals, Kasabian, My Chemical Romance), and George tends to take influence more from solo singer-songwriters like Ben Howard, Bon Iver and, of course (when he's not fronting Radiohead) Thom Yorke, their songs often centre around similar themes: the longing for transcendence, for connection, for understanding, for love; the angst and despair that can accompany these longings and efforts to fulfill them; and the serenity, wisdom, and beauty that can arrive when we persevere in trying to understand ourselves and the world long enough to reach some kind of breathrough - something their songwriting has always been a central part of facilitating.
