What locals say about Barnet

“Cockfosters is a nice small community, with plenty of good restaurants”

“East Barnet has the best of both worlds, London on the Green Belt. The parks are lovely, the schools amazing (it's known as the Golden Triangle for schools) and the amenities all on your doorstep. There are independent butchers and greengrocers and if you want a big supermarket there is that too. Fantastic transport links (buses, trains and tube) all within walking distance and it's 10 minutes drive from M25. Best of all a Barnet postcode EN rather than N, gets you far more for your money - not that it is cheap but your pound does go further than a London postcode- yet there you are, in London. Perfect - I would not live anywhere else!”

“Close to the Hertfordshire countryside, easy access to central london”

About Barnet

Offering a glorious mix of urban and country living, Barnet is a suburban town on the edge of north London. Historically a civil parish of Hertfordshire, Barnet is 11 miles (17 km) north-northwest of Charing Cross. The town is bordered by countryside and Potters Bar, Cockfosters, Totteridge, Whetstone, Boreham Wood and Elstrer. It has great public transport links and the A1 runs along the Barnet Bypass to the west of the town. The town's also a short distance from the M25. Perhaps not as multicultural as other parts of London, Barnet remains popular with older, more affluent people with grown-up families.
