It is an exciting time to move to Woolwich - especially now that the Elizabeth line goes to Woolwich Station. This incredibly trendy, up and coming area is home to gorgeous markets, vast green spaces and (most importantly) some lovely places to wine and dine. Whether you’re looking for a classic pub to spend a Saturday afternoon, or you’re wanting to find some tasty Italian food - you’re in luck. DesignMyNight have put together a list of the best venues to visit in Woolwich to ensure you fall in love with the area even more.

By DesignMyNight:

The Guard House

If you’re looking for somewhere to pop into after a long Sunday walk, then The Guard House will be just the thing. This chic gastro pub serves up traditional pub grub, as well as all your classic ales and craft beers. It’s been called one of the most attractive pubs in Woolwich (but we’ll let you be the judge of that). It also boasts an elegant glass house if you fancy a meal under the stars.

Address: The Guard House, No 1 Street, Woolwich, SE18 6GH

The Star SE18

Once you’ve moved to Woolwich, you’ll be looking for some friendly, vibrant bars to replace your old local. The Star SE18 is an extremely friendly spot with an award-winning pizza kitchen called Sourdough Saloon. This place also happens to be dog-friendly, so your four-legged friend won't miss out on all the fun. They serve up an array of cocktails, craft beers and rums - so you’re not going to run out of choices in a hurry either. You can even lap up the summer and winter sun in their leafy beer garden if you’re getting cabin fever indoors.

Cafe Spice Namaste

Finding a favourite restaurant in a new area can be tough, but Cafe Spice Namaste is set to be your new go to. This family run Indian restaurant serves up mouth-watering dishes inspired by contemporary street food vendors (they even have a traditional Parsee Sunday roast). Their award-winning range of food products are even available to buy from the restaurant - great for those sudden cravings.

Con Gusto

Situated in the heart of the Royal Arsenal Riverside, Con Gusto will transport you so far away from Woolwich that you might think you’re in Italy. This fine dining Italian restaurant serves up some gorgeous homemade pasta dishes that you won’t want to put down. Plus, if you’re looking for a little pre-theatre bite to eat, then they’ll open early to ensure you’ve got more than enough time to catch a show. They’re even available for private hire, so you better get planning your next birthday meal, because you’ll want it to be here.

Address: 54, Number One Street, Royal Arsenal Riverside,SE18 6ST

Dial Arch

Whether you’re looking for a cute little place for date night or some after work drinks, Dial Arch is the place to go. First off, it’s a Young’s pub, so you know it’s going to tick all the boxes. They serve up traditional pub food alongside some other modern British dishes that you’re bound to love. The setting is also gorgeous for those wanting an elegant dish in the dining room or a romantic meal for two by the roaring fire.

Address: Dial Arch, Number 1 Street, SE18 6GH
