Living in Muswell Hill
A local information guide to Muswell Hill property, schools and public transport.

Close to Alexandra Park and Highgate Woods, Muswell Hill is a comfortable mainly Edwardian north London suburb. Muswell Hill Broadway and Fortis Green Road, the main shopping streets, still maintain their historic character with most of the original facades preserved above street level. The area has a synagogue and four churches, one of which has been converted into a bar. Some parts have very clear views over London.

It is leafy, clean, safe and upper middle class with lovely Edwardian houses, parts of it are walkable to Highgate tube, lovely roads such as Cranley gardens, Etheldene Ave etc are about a 12 min walk to the Highgate tube. Feels like a village with friendly local people and has good shops and independant resturants. Only 5 miles from central london and bordering crouch end on one side and highgate on the other. Perfect, oh ! also has some great state schools. Not cheap but slightly less expensive than Highgate. Submitted May 2011 via the website
