It's UNESCO International Jazz Day and we're hosting a celebration of global jazz in association with this incredible worldwide event coordinated by the Herbie Hancock Institute in the USA. Claude Deppa is one of the founding fathers of the Jazz Warriors, probably the most influential UK jazz collectives of the 20th Century and he leads this phenomenal band of multi-national musicians from the Grand Union Orchestra to join the world's largest celebration of jazz with music that will move the feet and lift the heart. Expect Bengali songs and rhythms from tabla master Yousuf Ali Khan, lyrical solos from Louise Elliott (tenor sax/flute), and music from the African diaspora, Latin America and the Caribbean featuring Claude Deppa (trumpet), Josh Brandler (voice, bass), Siemy Di (DR Congo) all supported by multi-instrumentalist Gerry Hunt.

LOVE and DANCING returns for the first time in 2026 with their unique playlist of Eighties Cool Cuts, Classics and Curveballs. DJ Steve Proctor is internationally acknowledged as one of the original DJs involved with the explosion of Electronic Dance Music and Alternative dance tracks known as New Romantic/Futurist in the early Eighties, as well as being one of the original DJ/Producers who brought Acid House/Balearic to the attention of Europe in the late Eighties. And as this year celebrates 40 years since House Music first appeared in the UK charts, this LOVE and DANCING will be reminding us all of those exciting early years of the scene. Expect everything from ABC to ACID HOUSE, Futurist to Phuture, and everything in between. Once again Steve is proud to be joined by DJ EVE, and theyre both looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor.

A relaxed and welcoming space for adults to write, create, connect and share stories through poetry, journaling and art. All adults welcome. This will take place every fortnight. In this class pupils learn the upper notes of the recorder (over the break) and begin learning the treble recorder, building on music reading skills. At this point, pupils often chose to take RMS Stage Exams and become more independent musicians. Entry Standard: Pupils who can play at least an octave on the descant recorder Age: Yr.3+ Progression Routes: Recorder Club Advanced members can progress to our auditioned ensemble - Recorder Consort.
