James Stevenson and Gareth Atkins, Sales and Lettings Managers at Foxtons Chiswick fill us in on what's best in their area.

WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE PROPERTY MARKET IN CHISWICK?

James: 'Currently, as with most areas in London, the balance between supply and demand means that most of the properties in Chiswick are being bought by cash rich buyers moving out from more central locations. What's also clear is that there are more and more locals who don't want to leave the area and are either staying put or extending.'

Gareth: 'On the lettings side, there are a number of new developments which are receiving a lot of interest, including St Peters Place on King Street, which is close to completion and Ashlar Court in W6, also almost finished. We have now let more than six flats in the Kew Eye Apartments in Brentford, which with their stunning views and high spec finish are proving highly desirable.'

ANY EXCITING NEW OPENINGS?

James: 'There's definitely a buzz about the new five screen cinema complex with a late license that has been approved on the former Rambert Dance Company site.'

Gareth: 'Also, the all-American restaurant Jackson & Rye has just opened up next to the office bringing some amazing New York dishes to West London.'

WHERE'S BEST TO RELAX?

James: 'You'll often find me playing tennis at the Dukes Meadows sports complex near Chiswick Bridge. The other facilities include a par 3 golf course and an indoor ski slope, great for those wanting to hone their skills before the season starts.'

AND TO EAT OUT?

James: 'On a Sunday morning there's nothing much better than tucking into a full English breakfast at High Road House, followed by a wander around the vintage furniture shop, The Old Cinema, to find something totally unique for your home. Finally, it's got to be Macken Brothers to pick up a delicious joint for the weekly roast.'

Gareth: 'I like to head to the Station House in Grove Park, which is a lovely gastro pub situated close to the river. Also, Luna Cafe on Chiswick High Street may not have a fancy exterior but it does fantastic sandwiches in any combination you can imagine.'

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR GETTING OUT AND ABOUT?

Gareth: 'The grounds at Chiswick House are beautiful and free and there are often events being held which can brighten up a free evening or weekend. There's also a pretty walk along the river between Hammersmith Bridge and Chiswick Mall.'

James: 'I agree. Walks by the river in Strand on the Green or at the Chiswick House grounds are the ultimate feel good escapes away from all the hustle and bustle.'

ARE THERE ANY CELEBS IN CHISWICK THAT WE CAN LOOK OUT FOR?

Gareth: 'Yes. Lots! To name a few, Ant and Dec, Claire Balding and Colin Firth all live in the area.'
