We’ve all heard the saying ‘new year, new me’ enough times over the past week to keep us going until 2018. From healthy eating plans and dry January to moving home and decluttering, it’s safe to say that most people have their sights set on a fresh beginning for 2017.
But what if your new start could benefit not only your life, but the lives of thousands of others? And what if you could do this from the comfort of your home, with just a few taps on your mobile phone? The free smartphone app, Gone for Good, is a decluttering app with a difference. It allows you to donate your unwanted goods to charity, without the hassle of juggling bin bags or carting furniture to the nearest charity shop.
In a few easy steps you can have your unwanted items taken off your hands. Simply take a photo of your item(s), upload it to the app and fill in the details, including size and value, before completing your contact and collection details. The app will then search for all of your local charities that are participating in the Gone for Good scheme and let you select the one you would prefer to donate to. You will also be given the chance to add Gift Aid to your donation before submitting. Within a few days, your desired charity will call to arrange collection from you.
Foxtons is delighted to support the incredible work that Gone for Good does by introducing our customers to the app. For more information, you can pick up a leaflet in any of our offices or log into our online portal.
Mark Charnock, Gone for Good Managing Director, commented: “We are delighted that Foxtons is able to support Gone for Good. Using our app is an easy way for people to clear out unwanted furniture and takes some of the hassle out of moving house. As well as helping local charities, it makes sure goods are re-used and recycled and don’t end up in skips or landfill.”
