"The first London Eye, was a giant Ferris wheel erected for the Empire of India Exhibition at Earls Court in 1894. 300 feet high, and capable of carrying 1200 passengers, sadly on the evening of May 6th 1906, it got stuck and the passengers had to remain in it overnight, relieved by tea and sandwiches which were hoisted up to them."

Off Earl's Court Road there are some delightful painted houses like those on Wallgrave Road.
