South London Theatre welcomes: Good Ship Comedy Founded in Kilburn, migrated to Camden Town and now south of the river in West Norwood, Good Ship Comedy is your friendly neighbourhood comedy club. For the past fifteen years we have featured some of the finest comics from the UK and international festival circuit including Josh Widdicombe, Sara Pascoe, Sindhu Vee, Nish Kumar, Rich Hall, Katherine Ryan and many, many more. All presented by resident compere, Ben Van der Velde. The perfect comedy club host he is a master of audience interaction. South London Theatre presents: Villa by Guillermo Caldern Villa is a gripping and thought-provoking drama that explores the painful legacy of a countrys past, set against the backdrop of a former torture site. In this powerful and intimate play, three women gather to debate the future of the Villa Grimaldi, a real-life site of atrocities during Chiles dictatorship. Their mission: to decide how the site should be memorialised. As the women deliberate, they confront deep, conflicting emotions about memory, justice, and the responsibilities of remembering a painful history. Should the site be a museum, a memorial, or something else entirely? Their intense conversation becomes a metaphor for a nations struggle to reconcile with its violent past. Written and directed by Alex Maslin and starring Liam Bull, George Chron and Alex Fernandes, the play follows two men who enter into an impromptu suicide pact upon realizing their flat has been polluted with carbon monoxide. Norman Birch and Victor Lloyd will sit and wait for the polluted air to take their lives. But just what has brought them to this choice? This show contains very dark themes and scenes that some may find upsetting.
