Brent Active Together – Test & Learn Pilot Families on Wheels Learn to Skate Together – Strengthen Family Bonds Through Movement About the Pilot Families on Wheels is a Test & Learn pilot designed to shape Brent’s new Family Learn-to-Skate Programme. Through this short trial, families will help co-design the final model by sharing feedback and reflections after each session. Your experiences will directly influence how we build future opportunities for families to play, move, and learn together across Brent. What’s on Offer: We’re offering 14 private, one-hour Learn-to-Skate sessions, each for one family of up to four people (minimum one adult). Each session will: - Be led by a qualified RollaDome coach - Include skates, protective gear, and a safety briefing - Teach families skating step-by-step with a focus on fun, teamwork, and confidence - End with a short reflection and feedback activity Our Aim: To explore how learning together can help families: - Spend quality time and stay active as a unit - Build confidence and communication through shared experiences - Strengthen relationships while being physically active - Co-create a lasting, inclusive family skating model for Brent Who Can Apply - Families living in Brent (priority to Wembley Ward) - Immediate family only – parents, children, and siblings living in the same household - Up to four participants per family (must include at least one adult) - Open to SEND families - Sessions run November – December 2025 - Applications close once 14 families are confirmed Priority Applications Preference will be given to: - Families referred by community organisations, schools, or faith centres (e.g. via your local imam, youth worker, or community hub) - Families not currently engaged in organised sport or physical activity - Households that would benefit from shared family time and confidence-building experiences How to Apply: Families can apply directly or be referred by an organisation. Together, we’re testing inclusive ways to help families move, connect, and grow stronger — side by side.

This workshop invites participants to reflect on how identity is formed, expressed and transformed, particularly within hybrid or migrant contexts. Through conversation, analysis of artworks, creative making, and storytelling, participants will explore their own cultural narratives. Each participant will produce a visual piece and the option of a recorded story, contributing to a growing archive of Anglo-Polish experiences. Step into the journey of migration, memory, and belonging through the eyes of the Anglo-Polish community. In this immersive workshop, participants will explore what home meansacross borders and generationsby creating their own "suitcase story." Led by artist,Ania Ruszkowski, and inspired by real-life stories from the exhibitionMy Country is My Home, the workshop invites participants to reflect on objects, memories, and cultural identities that shape our sense of place and belonging. Participants are encouraged to bring along photographs, images or items that are important to their own "suitcase story", for inclusion in their creations (please note, we will take copies of photographs, so that they can be used without damage to originals.)

The Museum of Brands, in partnership with Anderson Entertainment, is proud to present our latest exhibition celebrating the landmark anniversaries of Gerry Anderson’s groundbreaking series Thunderbirds (first broadcast in 1965) and Space: 1999 (first premiered in 1975). The captivating displays pay tribute to Anderson’s lasting legacy through an exceptional array of toys, games, and memorabilia that have inspired generations of fans. Opening on 13 September 2025, known as Breakaway Day for Space: 1999 enthusiasts, the exhibition offers a nostalgic journey into Anderson’s imaginative worlds. Co-curated by internationally renowned graphic designer and Thunderbirds superfan Malcolm Garrett MBE, the exhibition features over 300 meticulously curated objects from the Robert Opie collection alongside private collectors items. Many of these cherished pieces will be displayed for the very first time, showcasing treasures from Anderson’s most iconic shows including Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Supercar, Fireball XL5, UFO, and, Space: 1999. Don’t miss the unique opportunity to relive the sci-fi stories that shaped a generation, through the memorabilia that kept the magic alive. This interactive panel discussion brings together two artists (Ania Ruszkowski [https://www.aniaruszkowski.com/] andZofia Wyszomirska-Noga [https://wyszomirska-noga.com/]) whose work is shaped by Polish heritage and the lived realities of Anglo-Polish identity. Olga Topol, curator of Slavonic and East European Collections at The British Library, will facilitate the discussions and contribute her experiences alongside Ania and Zofia. Through storytelling, artworks, and shared reflections, the panel explores how cultural memory, displacement, hybrid belonging, and language are expressed visually. More than a traditional talk, this session invites audience participation, live questions, and mini reflection activities to build dialogue and deepen mutual understanding.
