The Fox is thrilled to welcome back Transmission on Thursday 12th February. Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig, Transmission emulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era. Joy Division were formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success. The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching and they were considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Forty years on you can still relive the dark, cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission, the UK’s premier band playing homage to their music. As an audience member, you will become part of one of the world's most loved classics! In this immersive promenade performance, you will be taken around the beautiful grounds of Shrewsbury House to watch the tragedy unfold. You are all cordially invited to Lord & Lady Capulet's Festive Ball, where you will be able to get a drink at the bar and join in with the festivities. They only ask that you bring a mask with you and label it on the inside. This is so you fit with their Masquerade theme. For those of you who wish to be more involved in the production, we will be holding a LOTTERY. One person will be selected at random, and the lucky winner will get the chance to play a small role in the production. Imagine speaking the words that have been uttered by the Greats; Laurence Olivier, Maggie Smith and Dame Judi Dench.
