Jazz at the Wheatsheaf - Freddie Benedict Trio
Live at The Wheatsheaf, Tooting Tuesday 13th January 2026
Freddie Benedict | Paul Edis | Luke Fowler
Join us for an unforgettable evening of jazz at The Wheatsheaf Pub, Tooting, as three of the UKs most exciting jazz musicians come together for one night only. Expect an inspired mix of timeless standards and fresh original compositions from smoky ballads and hard-swinging tunes to moments of lyrical beauty and effortless groove.
Freddie Benedict brings his unmistakable charm and velvet tone to the stage, showcasing both his vocal finesse and Cher Baker-esque trumpet work. A graduate of Guildhall School and a rising star on the London scene, Freddies soulful phrasing and playful improvisation have captivated audiences across U.K. and Europe.
At the piano, Paul Edis composer, arranger, and bandleader provides the perfect blend of sophistication and warmth. His touch, steeped in the traditions of Bill Evans and Monk yet distinctly his own, anchors and elevates every tune.
Completing the trio is Luke Fowler on bass, whose rich tone and intuitive sense of swing tie it all together. With years of experience playing across the UK jazz circuit, Luke brings both drive and subtlety to the ensembles sound.
