Musician, drummer & composer Alasdair Pennington has in recent years established himself as a distinct and creative voice on the drum kit within the vibrant London jazz and improvised music scenes. An in-demand sideman, Pennington has performed and recorded with many eminent, international artists across genres including Helen Sung, Baptiste Herbin, Laura Jurd, Michael Dease, Dennis Rollins and The Flaming Lips among others. His considered musical contributions with various projects have garnered much positive acclaim, including from Downbeat Magazine who in October 2023 wrote “Pennington’s a kick-ass drummer”. In the winter of 2024 Pennington released his debut album 'This Is' on Hidden Threads Records, showcasing his compositional voice on record for the first time. Presented by Next Door Records. Wirral-raised and London-based, Blair is an alternative rap artist whose sound blends elements of dance, jazz, and indie rock. The themes he explores tell a coming of age story through language that is sometimes elusive, sometimes direct. He grew up listening to Slipknot, Loyle Carner, and anything in between, and his music is a reflection of that - jazzy voicings are paired with smooth vocal delivery, washy guitars are offset by dancefloor rhythms. In all his tracks, Blair uses variety to create a fresh sonic aesthetic. support from goostavo Desperate to share what life is like being neurodivergent, Angus Bruce began releasing music under GOOSTAVO. Picking up the saxophone at aged 8 he fell in love with jazz, learning to produce as a teenager, and falling in love with hip hop and rap during his time living and studying music in Southampton. Since moving to London a few years ago, alongside supporting artists like GIYA and DARGZ, GOOSTAVO has sold out shows at NextDoorRecords, The Troubadour, and The Libra alongside being a finalist in tbe 2024 Cross The Tracks Emerging Artist Competition. Featuring original compositions from Prado’s new album Brasilidade - A Jazz Portrait Of Brazil, alongside beloved classics by Milton Nascimento, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and other iconic composers, this performance is a celebration of Brazil’s musical heritage reimagined through the lens of contemporary jazz. Cora is back at Next Door Records with her band to celebrate the release of the first single "Football Field" from her debut EP, "Head Rush". Cora takes a raw and vulnerable approach to writing lyrics, drawing on relatable and often messy life experiences, to create music that offers a space for healing and growth. Having grown up in the Irish trad music scene in Co.Derry, her melodies are heavily influenced by the decorative and emotive style of Irish traditional singing. Since moving to London in 2021, she has developed her authentic and original sound which has led to performing in many established venues across London, including 02 Shepherd’s Bush, Troubadour and sold out Notting Hill Arts Club for the release of her debut single No Easy Road.
