Discover the untold story of seven remarkable sisters whose influence rippled through the worlds of art, literature, photography, and society in the 19th-century. Nicknamed “Pattledom” by the writer William Makepeace Thackeray (1811–1863), the sisters’ world was one of rich cross-cultural exchange, where Anglo-Indian heritage, European influence, and artistic experimentation converged in a vibrant social sphere that defied Victorian convention. Whilst the photographer Julia Margaret Cameron (1815–1879) is today the most celebrated of the sisters, this exhibition uncovers their collective impact. Through rarely seen portraits, evocative photographs, treasured possessions, and new research, discover how their influence extended from Calcutta, India (now Kolkata) to Kensington, and from the salons of Little Holland House to the Bloomsbury Group.

Storytime at Guildford Cathedral Preschoolers, parents and carers are invited to join us for a fun, informal session of songs, stories and rhymes in Seasons Cafe. Space is limited so pre-booking is recommended but you can also just turn up on the day. The session is free but drinks, snacks and lunchboxes are available to purchase. The event is held in Seasons Cafe on Thursdays starting at 11am

The Pete Roth Trio features leader Pete on guitar, Mike Pratt on bass, and the incomparable Bill Bruford on drums. Roth’s original compositions, such as “Dancing with Grace,” the Trio’s collaborative works like “Trio in Five” and “Looking Forward to Looking Back,” or their reinterpretation of masterworks like Anton Dvorak’s “Largo from Symphony #9,” offer just a few gateways into the creative world of the Pete Roth Trio—a world that will likely reshape your perspective on what the guitar trio format can achieve.

A Christmas Concert performed by The Royal Military School of Music Musicians from The Royal Military School of Music, based at The Alford Schools of Music, Portsmouth are delighted to perform a Christmas Concert. This will include an interesting and varied programme of seasonal music for you to enjoy, which is guaranteed to lift your spirits and make a wonderful start to the festive season. Tickets are free; however, donations are welcomed. Refreshments will be provided during the interval.
