Join us for a fast-paced musical farce, filled with flirtation, mischief, and comic entanglements. Expect toe-tapping tunes, outrageous characters, and fabulous costumes in this stylish 1920s re-imagining of Offenbachs classic French comedy, performed in English, and with a live orchestra. Three unsuspecting visitors arrive in 1920's Pariseach determined to sample its legendary delightsand promptly fall into the hands of two mischievous young Parisians with a talent for trouble. Mistaken identities, outrageous disguises, fake hotels, impromptu parties and wildly misplaced affections collide as everyone chases the real Paris and each other. Before long, the citys most glamorous courtesan, a millionaire Brazilian, and a houseful of over-enthusiastic servants are swept into the uproar. What could possibly go wrong?

Join us as we bring our centenary celebrations to a close after a jam-packed year of musical theatre. A Century Celebratedwill look back at many of the shows produced and performed by Walton & Weybridge AOS over its one hundred year lifespan, showcasing a plethora of musicals from across the years.

The Molesey Musical Theatre Production of Jack and the Beanstalk takes place at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, Walton-on-Thames between Wednesday 15 and Saturday 18 November 2023. There will be a total of 5 performances including 2 on Saturday - midday and 5pm. Jack takes the cow into town and is offered magic beans in exchange for it. When his mother sees he’s brought home beans instead of money, she throws the beans out the window and a great beanstalk grows into the clouds. Jack climbs the stalk in hopes of finding food. He comes across a town among the clouds and is helped by a magic fairy to find a giant’s castle (home to the giant who killed Jack’s father). Jack eventually steals a magic hen and gold coins from the giant. Jack also attempts to steal a harp but the giant wakes up from his slumber and chases after Jack, who runs down the beanstalk, and cuts it with an axe, causing the giant to fall and die. This serves justice to the giant and also teaches Jack to always behave and listen to his mother. Of course, all the usual Pantomime add-ons and embellishments are woven within the tale. Such Fun !

Following our sell-out performance of Sir Karl Jenkins The Armed Man, please join us for a vibrant choral spring concert, built around one of the great masterpieces of the Baroque:Handels Dixit Dominus . Written in 1707 when the composer was just 22 years old, this dazzling setting of Psalm 110 is filled with fiery choral writing, virtuosic solo passages and rhythmic brilliance. Intensely dramatic and unmistakably operatic in energy, Dixit Dominus showcases Handel at his most inventive and exuberant. We then invite you to experience a contemporary reflection on the same psalm: as we singa newly composed Dixit Dominus by Clive Osgood. Osgoods music combines rhythmic vitality with expressive lyricism, offering a fresh and accessible companion piece that speaks compellingly to modern audiences while echoing the psalms timeless themes. Our concert programme blends the familiar with the unexpected choral favourites that draw us in, and musical discoveries that expand our horizons. We open by singing one of the most iconic anthems in the choral repertoire:Handels Zadok the Priest. Originally composed in 1727 for the coronation of King George II, it has been sung at the coronation of every British monarch ever since. With its slow-building, teasing introduction creating an air of anticipation before the triumphant choral entry this is sure to set a majestic tone for the afternoon. Culminating our celebration of choral music old and new with the spine-tingling, joyful splendour of another beloved favourite, first commissioned for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902: Parrys I Was Glad, we trust that the sweeping melodies and final, dramatic climax of this processional all-time great anthem will also leave you glad that you came to this Walton Voices concert!
