You may know about our unique sellout O2 arena event in 2013 and our secret singing flash mobs around country for Comic Relief (just search 'Great British flash mob' on YouTube!), but at Rock Choir we know it's not just about the unique huge events, it's about our choir members singing in the community. Papagena & FYC Senior Choir joint concert
Tomorrow is Today Songs of love, beauty and the passing of time performed by the UK's flagship International upper voice ensemble: medieval - classical - folk - contemporary FYC is delighted to bring the UKs premier all-female acapella quintet to Farnham. After a recent appearance on BBC Radio 3, Sarah Walker called their voices extraordinary and Katie Derham said, I had a bit of a goosebump moment there... that was absolutely beautiful, crunchy harmonies. Loved that! The performance will include two world premieres, one composed by Michael Higgins and the other by Liz Dilnot Johnson. Come & Sing Day 2026
Farnham & Bourne Choral Societys annual Come and Sing Day this year focusses on Matthew Coleridge's Requiem . Join the composer himself to explore the history, context and music of this fabulous work. This promises to be a fun-filled day of great music, plenty of singing, and a generous helping of socialising. The day will finish with an informal performance, free of charge to the audience. Tickets are 25 plus a refundable 5 for hire of the music as required. Registration between 9:30 and 10:00 before the 10:00 start.Read more
Choral Workshop: Dvorak Stabat Mater
At our 2026 Choral Workshop, we will explore the deep emotions of Dvorak's Stabat Mater . The work is deeply rooted in Dvok's sincere religious faith and imbued with the spirit of Czech folk music, making it a cornerstone of the choral repertoire. Please note that advance online ticket sales close at 08:00am on the day but tickets will be available on the door. If you require a score, please book a ticket including score hire. Doors open for Registration at 10:00am. Score Hire will also be available at registration, 2:00 for the day, please pay by card or cash. If you are bringing your own score we will be using Novello/New Novello edition. Conductor: Richard Pearce Accompanist: Jakob Rothoff On the day: Doors open at 10:00am for registration and we will start promptly at 10:30am Please bring a packed lunch and your own mug Tea, coffee and cake will be available at the intervals While we are not planning to perform the Dvorak Stabat Mater this season, we would like to offer experienced singers the opportunity to sing with us at Guildford Cathedral on 21st March 2026. The programme of music by Vaughan Williams includes Paul Draytons choral version of The Lark Ascending , the Mass in G and Te Deum in G .
