London Guide Eleanor Bloom will lead a walk along the south bank of the river, passing a medieval palace, Shakespeare's theatres, Canterbury Pilgrims, Frost Fairs and the last remaining galleried coaching inn, The George. For hundreds of years Southwark was London's playground as it was outside of the City of London's jurisdiction and therefore not bound by law and order! As a result this area became a hotbed of drunkenness, vice and prostitution, populated with licensed brothels, playhouse theatres, gambling dens and cruel sports. The tour takes two hours, finishing at The George for lunch. Places are limited, so if you want to come please let us know as soon as possible Tickets are 10 for the tour - lunch is not included. Further information will be provided nearer the time for those who have signed up.

Our Wellbeing walks (previously known as Walking for Health) group offers free walks for adults in the borough. Meeting at various parks and open spaces across Redbridge on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Walking has many health benefits and best of all its free, all you need to do is turn up and enjoy the company.

Community Action Day in Uphall Recreation Ground. For ages 16+ Families welcome Activities may vary: Planting Flowers, Maintaining Planted Areas, Weeding, Mulching, Watering, Pruning, Maintaining Hard Surfaces, Maintenance Projects, Leaf Removal, Updating Noticeboards, Litter Picking and Sweeping Sport Courts.
