Richings Players turns 100 We are celebrating this event showcasing a number of performances old and new.

Once upon a time, a Baker and his Wife wished for a child, Cinderella wished to attend the Kings Festival, Jack wished his cow would give milk, and Little Red Riding Hood set off to visit her grandmother... But when their stories collide in the woods, wishes come true with consequences none of them expected. Richings Players are delighted to bring Stephen Sondheim and James Lapines much-loved musical Into the Woods to the stage as part of our Centenary celebrations. With all the familiar characters you know and love Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and more Into the Woods takes us beyond the traditional fairy-tale ending and asks what happens when our wishes actually come true. Featuring Sondheims unforgettable music and lyrics, the show is funny, magical, dark and surprisingly thought-provoking. As the characters venture deeper into the woods, they discover that getting what you want isn't always quite the same as getting what you need. Directed by Toby Stafford-Allen, this much-loved musical promises an evening of fantastic music, fairy-tale characters, humour, twists and a little bit of darkness.
