What is your favourite place?

Where do Monkhams locals go?

Woodford Wine Room

A small and friendly wine shop. They even sell wine from a barrel if you bring your own bottle to fill up.

Virgin Active, Repton Park

Not somewhere accessible to every local, but worth a mention all the same. The pool here is set within a converted church and is one of the most relaxing places to come and reflect upon your day...or just reflect on life.

Mode Beauty Therapy

I always visit this independent beauty therapy salon before any special event or just for a bit of me time. They offer a range of different treatments and the staff are always really friendly.

The Flower Pot

Fantastic quiz night on Tuesdays, music, really old feel pub, hasn't been gentrified. Very friendly, very low staff turnover which is a good sign.

Nu Bar

One of Loughton's late night spots, it's open from Thursday to Sunday and attracts a glamorous Essex crowd.

Sheesh

Great Middle Eastern-style food, stunning venue and a fantastic atmosphere. Will certainly be going back! You can spend your whole evening here, as there's a cocktail bar with live music for pre or post-dinner drinks.

India Grill

Great for a family meal or a get together with friends. Traditional Indian curries and sides, all for a reasonable price.

Wanstead Farmers' Market

Great locally produced food. Look out for TTaste street food serving freshly made gyoza (Chinese dumplings) served with TTaste homemade chilli oil.

Two Kitchens

The best sushi and burgers around and all under one roof - choose between Japanese and Italian cuisine, or why not have both!

LuXe

This luxurious late night bar is Loughton's answer to the West End. Dress to impress, book a table and have fun with your friends.

The Last Post

Great for drinks after work or a cheap pub lunch. It's location on the high street is really convenient too.

The Victoria Tavern

This has to be the prettiest pub in Essex! It's in a lovely quiet spot near Epping Forest and the large garden is fantastic in the summer.

God's Own Junkyard

Enough to brighten any overcast day... Head over to this warehouse for a sensory overload. A crazy feast of colours with store signs and lights, it's a truly hipster place!

Aura Rosa

Serving afternoon tea on a Sunday at Mother's Ruin Gin Palace, I recommend the Guinness cake!

Mother's Ruin Gin Palace

A lovely range of gin cocktails made with any gin you can possibly think of!
