An impressive music venue hosting great bands such as Slayer, to Jack White, to the Prodigy!

Feast on the Hill

From a full English breakfast to a ribeye steak in the evening, this restaurant keeps us locals smiling all through the day.

Cilicia

Amazing quality and cheap Mediterranean/Cypriot food. The lamb parcels and breakfasts are yummy!

O'Neill's

Not your typical O'Neill's with its setting in a converted church. It still has its original features and a lively atmosphere at the weekend.

The Scullery Cookshop

Any cooks dream, this shop stocks everything from everyday items to the more obscure things the recipe books demand!

Alexandra Palace Ice Rink

A fantastic day out for all the family all year round!

Cheeses

From firm favourites to more unusual tastes, this cheese shop is a foodies dream!

Walter Purkis & Sons

This family-run fishmongers sells high-quality fish at a great price. I always pop down on a Saturday to pick up something fresh for dinner...

Toff's

Best chippy in North London, or even the whole of London! You can even sit in too.

Fasta

Serving tasty pick and mix pasta dishes, sandwiches and salads, I sometimes grab my lunch from here.

Planet Organic

The most amazing shop that stocks literally every organic food you can imagine, as well as a huge range of beauty, health and baby products. The store is always immaculate, there are loads of helpful staff around and best of all, there is a juice bar and coffee shop too.

The John Baird

Real ales, a beer garden and quiz nights on a Thursday and Sunday are why I love going to this local boozer!

Crocodile Antiques

Boutique gift shop and café with a quirky interior and great food.

Maria

"The best part of living in Muswell Hill is the cafe and bar scene, which is surrounded by buildings and parkland from various architectural eras. Also for parents, schools of both the private and state sector are of high academic standards and are in close proximity to Wanstead."

"Muswell Hill has a very friendly and long established community, as people who move here tend to stay. The quality of housing is excellent with wide leafy streets and many Victorian and Edwardian properties. The main attraction however is the quality of the state schools with Muswell Hill Primary, Tetherdown and Rhodes Avenue all getting top ratings and secondary schools, Fortismere and Alexandra Park School getting "Outs... more

Feels like a village with friendly local people and has good shops and independent restaurants. Only 5 miles from central London and bordering Crouch End on one side and Highgate on the other. The Challenge Playgroup runs on Friday mornings in St. James' Church Hall, Muswell Hill. The happy noises of children playing are like those of hundreds of playgroups around the country. But this playgroup is special. It is run for children with additional needs; for their siblings, parents, carers and grandparents too. Parents are welcome without their child too, if they attend nursery or school on that day.In a quiet haven next door to the designated play area is a sanctuary of fresh flowers, bean bags-and absolute quiet-parents can sit in here and read a newspaper or magazine, retreat into their own thoughts or even have a massage most weeks, whilst a CRB checked volunteer plays with their child next door. The playgroup is completely free of charge. Website

Parent and Toddler Group at St Peter le Poer

St Peter le Poer
The session starts with free play for the children and we come together at 10.45am for singing, birthday celebrations, fruit and juice. While the parents enjoy a hot drink the children sit down to do a simple craft activity, usually involving a lot of glue and glitter and sometimes some paint! We clear up together at 11.30am and then bring out the cars, trikes and scooters for a final charge around the spacious hall and to make sure everyone is really tired and ready for lunch by midday.
